Review, The Daffodil, Cheltenham, England |

My wife went in to hospital for an induction.
We were instructed to arrive at 11am. At noon they told us that it would
be a couple of hours before we started. Hospital food or a proper meal?
No contest.
We went in search of a Greek place my wife wanted to try. Closed at
lunchtime. The next one. Ditto, but the owner suggested the Daffodil,
just along the road.
Now I had heard of this place. Firstly that it was the best food in
town, and that you wouldn't see any change out of $80 a head.
But it was a special day so I kept my mouth shut.
When we arrived the sign said Lunchtime restructed menu, £10 for 2
courses, £12.50 for three.
We walked into a converted art deco cinema. A lovely room, with plenty
of space. We then had the best food I've had in a long time. Good
tastes, and enough to sate without stuffing.
The Daffodil is what Petit Blanc wants to be, and isn't. Not by a long
way.
We also had a look at the evening menu. You won't have any change out of
$80 a head.
And if you're interested, a baby boy, Andrew. |
