prospect of winning independence. Naturally the British entered the conflict knowing they
could blindfolded suppress the American revolt. The British,
overly confident would have never expected anything but to crash the American revolt.

 | 1777 The Congress accepted the Articles of Confederation after a long
debate |
 | 1779 General Washington with the help of the French put the British in
check. |
 | 1780 Massachusetts ratified state constitution. |
 | 1781 October 19, 1781 Cornwallis surrendered his entire army of 6000
men. The new nation had won its independence. |
