Our feelings are expressed by Linda's Goodbye Letter As for the mechanics of the shutdown, here are the plans. We will:
| Stop taking submissions immediately ( Sunday, September 19th, 1999) | |
| Clean out the current queue using the same "one writing per author" scheme we've been using. | |
| Stop posting groups when the number of authors in our queue is less than 100. | |
| Continue judging and awarding monthly prizes until all groups have been judged. | |
| Continue posting comments until the end of the millennium. | |
| Remove the site from the Web on New Year's Day, 2000. |
